Three Dead, Two Injured in Shooting at Ohio High School

It’s a statistical fact:? You’re safer at school than you are anywhere else.

That’s one reason why it’s such big news when kids are shot at school.

On Monday morning,Moncler Outlet Online, a boy opened fire inside the cafeteria at Chardon High School in Chardon, Ohio, 30 miles northeast of Cleveland.

Three other boys were killed.

And two other students were wounded.

The alleged gunman has been identified as 17-year-old T.J. Lane.

Witnesses say he silently walked up to a specific group of kids sitting together in the high school cafeteria and opened fire.

“He was silent the entire time,” Chardon student Nate Muller told CNN.? “There was no warning or anything.”

According to published reports, Chardon assistant football coach Frank Hall chased the gunman out of the school.

Lane was arrested a short distance away,Monclers, soon after the shootings.

The boys who died were identified as 16-year-old Danny Parmertor and 17-year-old Russell King Junior.? The third victim, identified as 16-year-old Demetrius Hewlin, was hospitalized in critical condition and died from his injuries on Tuesday afternoon.

No one is exactly sure what provoked the violence.

Lane’s lawyer describes him as a “fairly quiet and good kid.”

But others describe him as “withdrawn.”

“He did have a sad look in his eyes a lot of the time,” his friend Haley Kovacik told CNN.

There are reports that Lane came from a troubled family with a history of violence.

And several kids said Lane had been bullied.

“All the kids made fun of him,” said another friend, Torilyn LaCasse,Vibram Five Finger, in an interview with CNN.

However, another student disputed that.

“Even though he was quiet,UGGs Clearance, he still had friends,” Chardon student Tyler Lillash said.? “He was not bullied.”

It’s not clear from published reports whether the kids who were shot had ever bullied Lane.

And even if they had,UGG Clearance, shooting kids at school or anywhere else is no way to handle the situation.

Lane had also posted a very dark, ominous poem on the Internet in December a poem that hinted strongly that he might do something violent.

But it was very vague.

So there was no way of knowing exactly what if anything he might do.

Lane was scheduled to appear in juvenile court Tuesday afternoon.

But Ohio Attorney General Michael DeWine said he expected Lane to be charged as an adult eventually.

Schools in Chardon are scheduled to remain closed until Friday.

But school officials are making grief counselors available to students, parents and staff members in the meantime.

Up to now, Chardon has been known mainly as a quiet little city that gets lots of snow during the winter.

On Monday, in just a few short moments, that quiet was shattered along with the lives of three boys and the gunman accused of killing them.

“It seems like a movie,” student Nate Mueller told the Cleveland Plain Dealer, the local newspaper.? “You don’t come to school thinking about people shooting right behind you.”
